What does texting mean to you? You wake up in the morning and the first thing you do is check your mobile phone, which probably has couple of unread messages and this most likely is the same process which will continue throughout the day, i.e. receiving scores of texts every single day. Am I right? Or AM I RIGHT!
The funny thing about texting is you have to reply countless times as it’s an ongoing process and for that you probably have subscribed to a decent SMS package plan from your service provider.
But did you know that the same SMS package, that deducts money for bunch of messages, always ends up increasing your phone bill dramatically. Think about it; a mobile phone can be used for calls, texts and internet – you don’t call anybody unless it’s really important, WiFi can serve the need for internet which leaves behind just text messages. And if you have subscribed to message delivery reports as well, it will increase your overall bill. Admit it, major chuck of your mobile phone bill comprises of texting expense.
However, there is a possibility of not spending a single dime of your hard earned money on ‘texting’. The mantra is very simple; if you can get something for free then why waste money on paying for it. Besides, you can save surprisingly good amount of phone credit by not spending on text messages. And for once you can enjoy the feeling of being in control of your expenses, so what if it’s just only your mobile phone bill.
There are plenty of smartphone applications available on Google Play Store, iTunes and Blackberry App World that can allow you to send free texts not only nationwide but internationally as well.
Some of the established apps that can serve the purpose are Whatsapp, Viber, Tango etc or the newer ones like Yello which will facilitate you towards free texting even more. They all provide more or less same services with little perks here and there and all of them can be used for free texting anybody anywhere in the world.
You just need to download the app on your phone and it will import your contact list. Let’s just assume you have downloaded ‘Yello’ on your smartphone, now it will take up your contact list and show you contacts that already uses Yello, which means you can text them right away. However there will be people in your list that won’t use Yello so you need to invite them to the app before you can indulge in free texting with them.
And in case you have doubts, these apps have been around for quite some time and they have millions of satisfied consumers, who have given up on SMS packages ages ago.
So, coming back to my question, whatever texting means to you, keep doing it as it makes sure you stay in touch with your loved ones 24/7. And especially now you have more than enough reasons to text as it is absolutely free. And it turns out that best things in life are indeed free.
